Crypto 101 · Lesson 3 of 3

Spotting scams

5 min read · Basic · Free

Guaranteed returns do not exist. Anyone promising them is lying.

Real exchange support never messages you first and never asks for your password, 2FA code or seed phrase.

Be careful with brand-new tokens hyped on social media. Some are built so the creators can sell and disappear — a 'rug pull'.

Key points

  • 'Guaranteed profit' means scam
  • Support never DMs first
  • Never share your seed phrase or 2FA code

Education only, not financial advice. Crypto is risky — only use money you can afford to lose, and check it’s legal where you live.
