Choosing an exchange · Lesson 2 of 3
Understanding fees
Exchanges charge a small percentage of each trade. 'Maker' orders add to the order book; 'taker' orders fill right away and usually cost more.
Futures add a funding fee every few hours, paid between traders holding long and short positions.
Withdrawals carry a network fee. Compare the total, not just the headline trading fee.
Key points
- Maker fees usually lower than taker
- Futures add funding fees
- Check withdrawal fees too
Education only, not financial advice. Crypto is risky — only use money you can afford to lose, and check it’s legal where you live.
