Stablecoins
Stablecoins aim to stay at a fixed price, usually 1 US dollar. USDT and USDC are the best known.
Traders use them to park money between trades without leaving crypto.
'Stable' is a goal, not a promise. A stablecoin depends on the company behind it holding real reserves, and some have lost their peg in the past.
Key points
- Designed to track 1 US dollar
- Used to park money between trades
- Only as safe as the issuer's reserves
Education only, not financial advice. Crypto is risky — only use money you can afford to lose, and check it’s legal where you live.
